# Lead criteria

> Define the people and companies that match your ICP.

Open **Targeting** > **Lead criteria** to describe who you sell to.

## Define your ICP

Use people criteria for roles, departments, seniority, and locations. Use company criteria for size, industry, revenue, funding, and relevant keywords or niches. Review the company and product context so traxy understands your offer.

Start with requirements that distinguish a buyer from a broad audience. For example, “sales leaders at software companies” is more useful than a long list of unrelated titles.

## Save a change

1. Review the existing criteria.
2. Change the fields that no longer describe your target buyer.
3. Review and save the update.
4. Inspect subsequent qualified leads and their fit reasons.

## Review existing leads after saving

After you save successfully, traxy can offer to check your active leads against the updated ICP.

1. Choose **Check leads** to start the review, or **Keep all leads** to leave them unchanged.
2. Wait for the check and review the number that no longer match.
3. Confirm the action to move those leads to **Done** only if you want to apply that result. Choose **Keep them** to leave them where they are.

Leads that cannot be checked stay where they are. A changed count needs another review before confirmation. If the check stops or fails, read the message before retrying.

Saving your criteria or running the check does not move leads by itself. Moving mismatches to **Done** keeps them available and does not change pipeline usage.

## Keep fit and signals separate

Lead criteria describe who fits. [Signals](https://docs.traxy.ai/discovery/signals.md) describe the evidence you want to find. A relevant post does not make someone a qualified lead if they do not meet your criteria.

A lead-list score filter narrows the results you see. It does not change the qualification rules or create additional qualified leads.
